Are we sick of European fantasy yet?

Art by Daandric/DeviantArt

""African games don't sell," people say. "People can't identify with African character art." "Medieval Africa hasn't got the variety and flavor of medieval Europe." "Players aren't comfortable with an African-flavored setting."  These are the words of Kevin Crawford, designer of Spears of the Dawn, a decidedly old-school tabletop game with a medieval African feel.

My new cocaine is Threes!

It's 11pm and I'm sliding the number 24 into its numerical clone. The game then alerts me that I've discovered a new character: 48! That must be a good thing. Seven months in the Ninth World

Art credit: Monte Cook Games

Possible spoilers ahead.

Taking The Trollish Delver To New Heights

It's now been five years since this blog popped into existence on the internet. I've been quiet for the past few weeks, thinking about how I can take The Trollish Delver forward into 2014 - how to keep it fresh and relevant. I have a problem keeping things the same and the blog has been through numerous redesigns in the past, but I don't like stagnancy. If I get bored, TD stagnates and I have to face facts that I do, believe it or not, have regular readers who enjoy my content.
