Rumours are flying around the interwebs that Riddick star Vin Diesel will voice the alien tree Groot in Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film.
Diesel sparked off discussion about him playing the character after he posted a picture of Groot on his Facebook, although he has since removed it.
The actor has been pegged to play some part in a Marvel movie by fans, but it was previously thought he would take on the role of Thanos.
This news is probably part of a sly marketing stunt by Marvel and I'd say it's quite likely that Diesel will end up voicing the walking, regenerating tree.
Guardians of the Galaxy is set for a UK release on 1 August 2014.
