Folks, I have a new game coming out on October 24th with Osprey Games. The Terror Beneath: An Investigative Roleplaying Game of Weird Folk Horror is based on the works of horror master Arthur Machen (The Great God Pan, The White People). You can preorder it right now.
To my knowledge this is the first TTRPG specifically set in Machen's world, a place where folklore, occult knowledge and science intersect into something terrifying.
Using the GUMSHOE Quickshock system, The Terror Beneath will thrust investigators into 1920s Britain, split between two settings: The London Metropolis and the Welsh Wilderness.
The bloodshed of the Great War has weakened the Veil between our world and the Otherworld, a place where gods of myth dwell in their awful incarnations. Creatures lost to folklore are stirring, malevolent beings who serve their sinister masters in the Otherworld. Sorcery and science are combined to create something greater and more dangerous, the technological progress of the war leading to wicked creations at the hands of those who would help the Great Gods breach the Veil.
