The recent decade has seen a slew of remakes, from god awful to mildly disappointing. But if there were any remake you would want to see, what would it be?

Open discussion: PS4 vs Xbox One - which will you be getting?

After this week's events at E3, gamers everywhere are talking about whether Microsoft royally buggered up (very likely) and if Sony delivered them a body slam for the ages (very probably). But after all the smoke clears and the dust settles, which console will you be splashing out your hard-earned moolah on? Maybe you won't even both with either, of perhaps you'll get the both. Let me know in the comments.

Open discussion: what's the best comic you have ever read?

God, comics are awesome, aren't they? But some are more awesome than others, whether those are classics like Watchmen and The Killing Joke, or modern epics like Superman: Red Son and We3, there's a tonne of great books to choose from. But what is the best comic you've ever read? It could be a single issue, a whole story arc or a graphic novel. Let me know in the comments.

While the troll's away, you guys have your say

The Trollish Delver is off on holiday for a couple of weeks (hurray!) to get out of his dank cave and sun himself on a beach.
While I'm away, I've scheduled posts to go up called 'open discussions', which is a) an excuse for me to not have to write anything substantial before I go, and b) so you guys can talk amongst yourselves about a variety of topics, ranging from movies to comic books.
So, I'm leaving you guys in charge while I'm away. There's enough frozen lasagne in the freezer to last you a good while and there's some beer in the fridge.
Right, so I've got my bags ready and I'm off. Just don't make too much of a mess, ok?

Winter 2013 will see the next installment of The Hobbit film trilogy: The Desolation of Smaug, of which the first trailer is now out.
It's elves up the wazoo, it seems, with familiar faces like Legolas entering the fray. We also get a good look at Tauriel, played by Evageline Lilly as well as a quick close-up of Smaug (Cumberbatch) himself.

Killshot: Reloaded sets its sights on $3,000 in Kickstarter funding

Killshot Reloaded looks to be a pretty ambitious tabletop project, and one that's sure to pique the interest of gamers. A revamp and expansion of the original Killshot rules, Reloaded sets the players up as assassins in one of five genres: noir, oriental, Cold War, wild west and hard-boiled detective. That's a lot of stuff right there, and Broken Ruler Games is asking for $3,000 on Kickstarter to make it happen.

Is the Xbox One already doomed?

It's been a rocky couple of weeks for Microsoft. First came the bewildering press conference that introduced the world to their next gen console: Xbox One, where most were left with more questions than answers. Then we've had a trickle of information about how the Xbox One's more controversial aspects (i.e. DRM games, 24-hour online verification, game loans) are actually going to work.
It doesn't look like good news.

How to get into comic books in 5 steps
Posted by
Scott Malthouse
Ok, so due to the billions of moneys superhero flicks have made over the past decade, the likelihood is that you've seen at least one comic book film. I'll also hazard a guess and say that you probably really like these movies, considering you're reading this article and all. Now you want to follow the adventures of your favourite superhero in comic books, but you're not sure where to start.
Beginning your foray into comics is a daunting prospect. There are so many titles to choose from and very few of them are beginning with their first issue right now, it's hard to know where to begin. Well fear not, true believer, because I've got your back.
